What a morning!

On Tuesday 30th April, as part of Sport in Mind's activities to raise awareness of Maternal Mental Health, and our ongoing commitment to supporting pregnant and new mums with their mental health at such a crucial life stage, we brought together 25 new mums and their babies for a gentle movement to music class.

The event, hosted in partnership with the founders of Maternal Mental Health Awareness Week; The Perinatal Mental Health Partnership, and Get Berkshire Active, took place within The Oracle Shopping Centre, providing an opportunity for new mums to relax together, talk, and of course move together for their mental wellbeing. The event was also supported by major retailers such as Lush with free hand and arm massages for participants, Whittard's Tea with free take home goodies, and Pret a Manger with free coffees and cakes for those at the event.

Kayleigh Harris, Head of National Partnerships for Sport in Mind said: "First of all, thanks to all of the amazing mums that could join today or showed an interest in attending our event, this was all for you. Secondly I would like to thank The Oracle team, Paul Kirton and Andy Briggs. They have been so welcoming and accommodating. The retailers have also been incredible, by offering so many extras, from free coffee from Pret, to free hand massages in Lush.

Congratulations Evie Canavan (Founder of the PMHP) and Ayesha Hussain on such a celebration of women and mental health, your strength and conviction in running Maternal Mental Health Awareness Week and World Maternal Mental Health Day is so inspiring"
