Reading Rotary Santa Run 2019 Sport in Mind are delighted to announce that we have been selected as one of the nominated charities for the 6th Annual Reading Rotary Santa Run! The Reading Santa Run is here again, raising thousands of pounds for local charities. The race attracts hundreds of runners to the Reading Town Centre every December. Much like a Sport in Mind session, entrants come from all walks of life and abilities. This is a fantastically festive way to support local charities and raise money to support people in your community. The Santa Run is separated into two events, a 1K Mini Santa Run and a 5k Town Centre Santa Run. The fairly level 1k course is ideal for youngsters, adults with babies in buggies, dogs with owners and we especially welcome wheelchair users and encourage all those with disabilities to join in, dress as Santa or an Elf and be part of the festive fun! For the serious runners or those who just like to jog, run or walk along the ‘all road’ 5k route goes through the heart of Reading. Our race takes you past St Laurence Church, Town Hall Square into Broad Street and through the Oracle Shopping Centre. The route then takes the cycle path along the Kennet and Avon Canal before crossing and returning towards Reading via Chestnut Walk and through the Oscar Wilde Gates. It then finally continues past the Abbey Ruins to the finish outside The Forbury Gardens. Not only does a portion of the entry fee go to Sport in Mind, you can also fundraise yourself so as friends and family can sponsor you! So why not come and join us in Forbury Gardens (RG1 3BB) on Sunday 8th December at 10AM?! Entries are now open if you are interested in getting involved, all you need to do is go to - https://readingsantarun.co.uk/ - and sign up. By the way, Santa or Elf outfits are included in the entry fee!
