Field Seymour Parkes’ Family team see clients on a daily basis who are going through the most difficult time of their lives – the breakdown of their relationship. Whilst we try our utmost to help them through this traumatic experience, many find it very difficult to cope – with their feelings of rejection by their partner and their very real worries about their children, their home and finances, their future in general.

This can manifest itself in depression, extreme anxiety and feelings of sheer despair. Mental health difficulties can impact on a person’s health just as dramatically as a physical injury but many of us are reticent in opening up about our mental health. When going through a process as frightening as a divorce or separation, many of us will need help and support from others. We need not face it alone. With this in mind members of the Family Team here at FSP will be running the Reading Half Marathon this year in favour of Sport in Mind.  Sport in Mind is an independent mental health charity (unaffiliated to Mind) founded in Berkshire in 2010 with a simple mission: "To improve the lives of people experiencing mental health problems through sport and physical activity."
