James Oliver

I have a very close connection with mental health. I've worked for pharma and in the area of mental health for a number of years and know how important exercise is for not just physical well-being but mental well-being too.

At the "tender" age of 42, I've realised that I need to stay on top of my own physical and mental well-being so I'm setting myself at least one large physical challenge each year. In 2019, I'm pleased to be running Brighton Marathon on Sunday 14th April when I will help fundraise for Sport In Mind.

Sport In Mind is a perfect choice. It is an independent Berkshire based mental health sports charity who use sport and physical activity to help aid the recovery of people experiencing mental health problems and encourage individuals to move their lives forward in a positive direction. Something I can completely relate to and I admire their drive to make a difference. Sport In Mind run sport and physical activity groups for people experiencing mental health problems in the community and inpatient care to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to be active irrespective of their current situation. These groups help aid recovery, improve mental and physical health, build self-esteem and combat social isolation.

Your kind donations will contribute to running such activities in the South East and Dorset which will in turn create more stories like the ones in the following link;

Thank you so much for your support. It means a lot. Every pound raised will be matched by my company, Otsuka Pharmaceuticals Europe Ltd.
