We wanted to take this opportunity to share something exciting with you all...Sport in Mind are very proud to present Dexter's Decathlon!

Dexter's Decathlon will be taking place from the 12th-26th June! 

Dexter is an incredible young man, a fundraising superstar who has made it his mission to complete 10 sports challenges before his 10th birthday later this month, all in aid of Sport in Mind and raising awareness of the impact of sport and physical activity on children's mental health. 

Dexter says: "I love sport & helping others. I want to support Sport in Mind as I understand how important it is to keep active for my mental health.  It makes me feel, strong, positive and happy"

Along the way, Dexter will be attempting to score a goal against G.B Hockey goalie Amy Tennant, making a splash with the G.B Diving squad accompanied by BBC Sport Commentator and previous Olympic medallist Leon Taylor, playing Tennis against a former G.B David cup Tennis player, and canoeing the Thames with a GB Junior International - multi national champion!! Phew! That's a lot to do before he's 10!

Dexter's Decathlon kicks off this Sunday with Dexter's challenge against GB Hockey star Amy Tennant. You can follow Dexter's progress on our social media pages, as well as Dexter's Instagram page too! 

We are also delighted to share that Decathlon UK are supporting Sport in Mind with the challenge and will be sponsoring Dexter by providing all of the kit he will need for each Sport he participates in, and helping us to highlight the importance of sport for all. 

Dexter's Decathlon will fundraise to help Sport in Mind deliver our ground breaking youth programme that uses sport to educate and support children and young people's mental health. 

• £200 enables a school to deliver sport and mental health lesson plans to pupils/students
• £150 can help Sport in Mind educate 30 children and young people about the benefits of being active for their mental health
• £75 provides the opportunity for 10 children or young people struggling with mental health challenges to access a Sport in Mind activity
• £10 supports a child or young person access a Sport in Mind Journal, supporting them to create healthy habits
