Sport, Exercise and Mental Health Workshop

An hour-long introduction to the amazing benefits that sport, and exercise can have on physical and mental wellbeing for young people aged 7-17.

Young people will take part in sport and exercise taster activities based around four elements that are important to wellbeing: communication; heart rate; breathing and focus. These interactive activities will build self-esteem, confidence and teamwork skills as well as being lots of fun!

This workshop is open to schools, community groups and all settings where young people will benefit from learning about our charity Sport in Mind and how to keep themselves healthy and happy through getting active. Extension workshop ideas and sign-posting activities will be discussed with lead contact.

Sport in Mind After-School Sessions

Young people are invited or can be referred to join Sport in Mind sessions after school to get active and have fun with others in a relaxed, supportive, friendly environment. They will play multi-skills games and enjoy a range of confidence-building activities based on the central Sport in Mind themes: communication, heart rate, breathing and focus. While improving their sporting ability, they will also be learning lots of ways to take care of themselves physically and mentally and building emotional resilience. There will be a maximum of 10-12 children places available per session.
