Challengers to take on 24 different sports in 24 hours to raise awareness of the benefits of physical activity on mental health.

Sport in Mind, the UK’s leading mental health sports charity, have announced a new event that will coincide with ‘Get Britain Moving’ Day on April 24th 2020.

The event, dubbed #24Sports24Hours will see Sport in Mind Volunteer Nathan Bingham challenge the charity's CEO Neil Harris in a range of sporting challenges across Berkshire and the surrounding areas.

With the sports taking place at a variety of venues such as schools, university, leisure centres and sports clubs, owners and users of these will be invited to play their part and join Nathan's blue or Neil's white team for a sport.

Neil Harris, Sport in Mind CEO said;

‘Taking part in sport or physical activity has shown to have a positive impact on our mental, physical and social health. The #24Sports24Hours challenge is all about getting our local community involved in something fun and social but also something that promotes mental well-being.’

Nathan Bingham added;

‘We want as many people as possible to join in on April 24th, whether it be a sport that’s a familiar favourite or something completely new. Sport in Mind are doing important work for those struggling with their mental health and this event will help prove again just how beneficial it is to be active for physical and mental wellbeing.’

More details regarding locations, a schedule and the exact sports the two teams will participate in will be announced in due course.
